About

Hello I am Scottish but now live in Catalunya. It is interesting to experience the question of independence from two points of view. I struggled to find my voice when I first arrived here so I started to write a blog www.thecatalanway.blogspot.com. This helped keep me sane and has introduced me to many interesting people around the world. I live in a town which is not especially well known and so I decided to write a blog about it too - www.aboutgranollers.wordpress.com. I live with my Catalan partner and his son. Life as a stepmother has not been easy and it has been yet another challenge to my identity and my self esteem. So what did I do? I started writing a blog about that too -www.theresidentadolescent.wordpress.com I didn't expect my life abroad to make me into a writer but it has. I am very interested in the process of change and how we deal with the stress caused by living in a new environment. I feel I have risen to the challenge but without writing about it I don't think I could have done this so well. New relationship, new family, new country, two new languages, new jobs which are not connected with my old profession and all happening in my fifties. Five years after following my heart and coming to live in Catalunya I do feel I am finding my feet at last.
