My husband and I live in Geneva, Switzerland. We moved here in October 2014 for his work and immediately fell in love with the city. I left my job in the States to move with him and our 2 cats and try out life in Europe. Within the first month we found an apartment and began getting our bearings, brushing up on our French, and of course traveling as much as possible on long weekends. After 4 months, which felt like an eternity but is actually considered to be pretty fast, I found a job with an international organization (there are lots here, and my "L" permit status was actually acceptable there, which had precluded me from any jobs in the private sector) and have settled in nicely since then. We love Geneva and the beauty and variety of landscapes, weather, and people in Switzerland, plus it is a wonderful "home base" for travel, which we do a lot of.
