I'm coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe. I'm a soon-to-be expat who'd like to meet some people in Istanbul to make friends and/or professional connections. I have visited Istanbul before, as a tourist. Things get a little different once you settle down, don't they?! If you have any tips, advice, recommendations, do's and don'ts to share, I'd like to add you - or you add me here. I am also learning Turkish, a little slow-paced but persistent. I have a friend who is now in stanbul for a visit..she is 20 yrs old ,she is with his mature divorced turkish boyfriend.. We communicate now by FB daily..and ,She was tellingme she do not like to live in Stanbul the reason people ...

You can't just expect people from big cities to be friendly with you right away, mostly because it is not very safe. The rest is just a prejudice. My visit to Budapest made me believe all people there were too serious and stern and to some point ... Read More
