About

Good morning! My name is Caroline and I am of French origin. I left my country in 2006 to settle in Canada, this magnificent country that I now consider mine. My partner (Brazilian/Canadian) has just accepted a job in Lumbubashi in the DRC and I will accompany him for around 2 years. We are both very excited about this new life even though we are well aware that it will be a real change. We have always traveled a lot and particularly enjoy discovering cultures that are very different from our own. We did a lot of couchsurfing for example in India or Morocco. We like the idea of integrating a lot but I am also aware that this sometimes remains very difficult. Through this blog, I would like to be able to know your advice and impressions on this city and this country which will welcome us in a few weeks. I have always been used to being independent and active so this change for me will be a double challenge. I don't yet know if I will have a work visa to be able to look for a job in a French or Canadian company or an NGO for example. Otherwise... It will be life as an expatriate wife! :) (which I don't know at all!!) I may sound like a person full of clichés or preconceived ideas but everything will be very new to me so I hope to find the support or help necessary thanks to this blog.
