Hi! We have lived on the East coast most of our working lives, then retired to lakeside living in northern Michigan upon on retirement. In 2008 we purchased a condo in Big Sky and added daily skiing to our other interests of boating, scuba, travel, family, gardening and so on. Currently planning ahead for the years after we are unable to continue skiing five days a week at the pace we now maintain. A further complication is the 93 year old parent in our household. Since my wife's family came from Hawaii . . . some of it arriving in the 1800's . . . we are now considering a move to Maui rather than the Virgin Islands. We realize that wouldn't actually make us "expats", but it's a big move nonetheless and would probably lee us in closer touch with our western US family than a move to the Virgin Islands, Also a bigger island! We would love to hear from other kama'aina and hear your advice on a move to Hawaii.
