Hi all, If you have been recruited to teach English at King Saud University for 2014/15 you now have a new rota system. Forget what you were told about 20 hours teaching and 5hrs admin in one week. Read the other part about Saudi Law(48hr ...

KSU can't hold a candle to Princess Nora University (PNU). A teacher came to PNU from KSU and quit after 3 days. She came on a Sunday, saw all the papework, and balked and promptly quit on Wednesday. This was about 2 weeks ago. No matter how it ... Read More

Enough of Princess Noura University by deocome

I just put in my resignation at PNU and I don't care who knows it! I regret these two years that I wasted on all the stress and unappreciation. I think teachers who want to come have a right to know how it is for us. Attendance was what did it ...

Do EdEx provide compound accommodation? by ToniTR

Greetings, Would anyone know if "Education Experts" generally provide compound accommodation for their workers? Regards Toni

Hi desert blue. Yes, I'm sorry, I meant SBC. The SBC compound is extremely far from PNU, though some teachers consider the two-plus hours of commute back and forth worth it because you can at least have a somewhat normal social life, unlike PNU ... Read More

Mudarisa is right. Edex housing is far - over an hour - or even longer when there are accidents. You'll leave extremely early if you teach in the mornings and God help you if you're late. You won't get home till close to 6 pm most days. ... Read More

PNU Housing by live2travel

Are there any direct hires here for PNU? What is the shared housing like? How far is it from the classes?

Yes, bring sunscreen and make sure to use it! We were just talking about how we all look so much older since we came and that's because we leave our sunscreen in our suitcases. Expect wrinkles and the respect that comes with it! :) Read More

PNU Teachers - No Health Insurance as of October 13

But don't go to King Faisal Hospital (KFH) because they don't take foreigners. They only take Saudis. It's too bad though because I'm told KFH is one of the only good government hospitals you can go to,but they reserve it for ... Read More

You need to have friends who are expats to get into interesting parties. Embassies are a good place to start of course but you'll need friends who can take you and are willing to pay. They're around 300 riyals but can be lots of fun. Also, ... Read More
