I was still a student but this experience taught me to stand on my own two feet... Between English classes and working to earn a living (and partying in the evening!!), I was always running from one point to another...
I took language courses in the evening to prepare for the Certificate of Advanced English while working as a cashier in a supermarket and then in a canteen.
The atmosphere, the live concerts in the bars, the people so friendly from morning to evening in the streets, the fact that age does not matter in social relationships, the ease of meeting people in the bars, the 'the weather is nice, everyone outside' (so rare)...
And a little comparison with France: a country which seemed much safer to me, people trust each other and are very disciplined.
Large Polish community, quite international atmosphere since the first question you get is always 'where are you from' :)
- The rain,
- Irish accent difficult to understand at first
- lack of good food
