I have been in Congo - Pointe Noire for 3 years now. It's a quiet and secure city, very little problem with violence, some thefts like in all big cities in the world, you should avoid walking around with an open handbag and going out in plain sight with your smartphones... (I know I've had that experience). Life is perhaps a little too quiet, not really a cultural life, but fewer and fewer roads in poor condition, much better and maintained trails. but still quite a few problems with water and electricity distribution (national network does not work very well), especially if you do not live in the city center. This is basically what I can say about Pointe Noire...
