My expat journey

Tunis, Tunisia
When we get to Tunisia, the plan is to live below my boyfriend's parents' place for the first few months while we get the farmhouse ready for us. We want to do some serious construction on the house, adding some rooms and an upper level, along with making sure the property is safe for our dogs and future children.
I am currently enrolled in a TEFL certification program, so I plan to teach English when I move there. My boyfriend has an olive farm, so we will be producing olive oil as well. If I have time in addition to these, I would like to pursue my health coaching career worldwide online. Our plan is to start having children right away as well, so I will be busy!!
When I visited Tunisia last summer, I mostly loved the people. My boyfriend's family was SO warm and welcoming, and they showered me with so many gifts that I really struggled to get everything home. I also loved some of the beaches, especially Hammammet and Tabarka. I loved the open windows and the sound of the chanting coming from the mosques. I loved the food and feeling like I could make a difference and have more of a purpose to my life if I live there, rather than blending in as "just anybody" in LA.
I did not like all the pollution (trash everywhere and burning of trash). It was pretty hot when I was there too, although I can handle it. I will have to get used to the way people shout at each other so much too. :)
