My expat journey

Tehr膩n, Tehr膩n, Iran

2016 - 2017

Tehr膩n, Tehr膩n, Iran

In the beginning Iran was an unknown country and a tourist destination. I was only supposed to stay there for a month. From discovery to discovery, from meeting to meeting, I quickly felt the desire to deepen my knowledge of this country of incredible cultural and social richness. Setting out to attack the mountains, I didn't see the time passing. Today, I want to invest professionally in Iran and cooperate with Iranians around community and cultural projects. Discovering Iran requires living there, and living alongside Iranians, sharing their daily lives and their hobbies. To see and feel Iran is to be there when the snow covers the mountains, and to witness the greening of the meadows, the return of the shepherds to the flowering valleys.... I love this country, I have been there for 6 months, and now I would like to introduce it to friends and my family in France. I love my country and I would like to introduce it to my Iranian friends.
Agricultural engineer and training. I worked in the research environment at INRA in Montpellier. Coordinator and research assistant of two European projects. The "European Machine" gave me multiple skills, and an understanding of the mechanisms and logic of development of research institutions and the private sector in the agri-food sectors/chains in Europe. Today I work freelance as a consultant. I want to get closer to stakeholders in the field, farmers, consumers, institutional stakeholders and favor projects with an operational and co-construction scope. President of the CAIRN association since 2017. International Cooperation Association for the Development of Mountain Activities and the Protection of Ecosystems. A 鈥淐ARE YOUR MOUNTAIN鈥 awareness project for users of hiking trails around Tehran is underway. It aims to inform Iranians about the impacts of non-organic waste on the ecosystem, to think collectively about the protective measures to be put in place, through good ecological practices, equipment and adequate display. A waste collection day will be organized, supervised by volunteers and will end with a friendly picnic. Waste sorting will be carried out and the results will be disseminated in the form of infographics/exhibitions/photographs displayed in public spaces.
I like to discover cultures different from the Western world: Iran is a perfect place. I like to live like everyone else: Iranian hospitality is unique in the world. I love nature, sunrises and sunsets: Iran brings together incredible climatic diversity, it is an ideal country to appreciate nature and the authenticity of the population who live in close association with it and respect it. Above all, I love mountain landscapes and activities: I discovered a country rich in landscapes and a people who love hiking, mountaineering, climbing...what could be better? Nothing ^^ I like to cook and please others: Iranians love to eat and their gastronomy is as diverse as their origins...Franco-Iranian exchanges on gastronomy are very interesting. I like people who cultivate real human values: Family values 鈥嬧媋re very present in Iran, the curiosity of Iranians for us French people is something that I did not recognize in France. Connections between people are made more easily in Iran, people are perhaps less individualistic than elsewhere. The traditional values 鈥嬧媜f society are preserved and this brings authenticity to the meetings, and to this warm country.
