About

Hi, we are possibly moving to Tel Aviv with my husband's company. I'm trying to find the best neighborhoods to look for a furnished three bedroom condo/house to lease for at least a year, perhaps as long as two or three, it needs to be near the MOD-or at least not too far, an international school for my 13yr old son, fun places to go and hang out, and other practical information, we will very likely have a car so that is a huge plus. I have some serious health issues and so am going to be looking for the best medical care possible when I'm there, holistic and traditional, and am open to advice on how to find it! I'll also be looking for household help when I get there or before, someone to clean once or twice a week and take care of my son if we go out. And most of all, I'd also love to make some friends before arriving so that when I get there I know some people! I have some friends that have lived in Israel before and they are hooking me up as well, but it's always nice to cover all your bases. Does anyone have any helpful advice? We are probably going to move, if we move, in March or April, which seems far away, but probably really isn't....

Hi, Even if you are Jewish, as we are, do you still have to do "Aliyah " if it's a temp move due to work? We would not likely stay forever and we would not become citizens, we cannot due to my husband's job, so I'm not sure how all of that would ... Read More

Learning the language by Letitiat

Hi all, I'm new to the forum :) My husband and I just moved to Tel Aviv and we have almost no Hebrew (beyond basic greetings, a handle on the aleph-bet, and how to say "I don't speak Hebrew"), and I am eager to learn the language. I'm finding the ...

We are possibly moving to Israel in the next few months and I'm nervous about the language as well, since everyone I've spoken to says there is not as much English spoken as they expected. Our entire family is going to take immersion classes, maybe ... Read More
