You can go to diverse beautiful places like the Smoky Mountains or the Outer Banks (it was really nice). I never been to but Asheville is a good destination. In Raleigh you have lots of museums, breweries or also the Videri Chocolate Factory to drink mocha and visit the factory. The nearest big cities are Washington DC. and Atlanta, then Charleston, Charlotte or Duke.
