I am orginally from the United States. Chicago. Came to Osaka a long time ago, stayed for a while, went back to the Americas and traveled around some, lived in a tent with my wife for a bit, got a post-graduate degree in something, then came back to Japan--Osaka, then Takasaki, then Kanazawa, and now Hiroshima.
