Hello, My name is Adrienne. I have been dreaming of island living for about 10yrs now. My vision is to have a retreat center where I can host guests and offer healthy living amenities, host retreats for mind-body-spirit healing as well as open space to others who want to host their own retreats. I have been able to travel to Fiji several times and would also like to contribute to the local communities by offering donation based classes & workshops. I am single and would be bringing my small dog with me. I have a small amount of money saved for starting up something. I am here to get guidance and make connections with anyone who can assist me in finding a location. I know my vision is pretty grand & expect that I will have to start small & grow. I have read that you have to demonstrate that you have $50k/FJD. any info that you may have would be awesome. One last thing, I will be going back to Fiji in Nov/Dec 2017 with the intention to secure a place to live and open business. My biggest question is, are there laws against having yoga classes in a private residence? because I'm thinking I can rent a home, host as a bed & breakfast & offer classes on Yoga & meditation as well. no it isn't; you can do volunteer work from what I understand in exchange for room & board in a village. To be honest, I have not done that so I don't know how the process goes, but from my understanding work force restrictions are ... Read More
