I was born in Iceland, my father English and mother Icelandic. We lived in Vestmannaeyja which is a small volcanic island on the south of island. After a devastating volcanic eruption in 1968 we moved to England. My father was quite well off because he learnt about the thermal engineering from Iceland and established one of the first central heating home systems in the UK. I went to a private all boys boarding school. I could never understand the British mind set and during a visit to my grandparents in Reykjavik after my O Levels, l discovered my roots and found real people who had discovered such a diversity of living there lives. Fascinated of the pure adventure and spirit of the country, I never went back to England to live again. I came to Saigon in 20009, after the financial crash in Iceland. I had by that time travelled far and wide but there was a vibe about Saigon (not Vietnam) and underground rumble of an energetic city that l felt appealed to something l was looking for all my life. It has been a difficult and enduring experience but have come to understand a completely different culture both in from Iceland and England. I have now an apartment in the artery of the city in which l combine my own ambience and hot, life and art into the the apartment. It's located in a place in which you would compare to within the city gates of an old Kingdom before the French colonised. I consider myself as being fortunate that l can share some of the experience of a minute part of the history of Saigon with you with a tint of my history expressed in the interior of the apartment l share with visitors to the city.
