My expat journey

Vientiane, Vientiane, Laos
Exploring Buddhism in Laos, massage, etc...
Full-time meditator
Chilled pace of life with little traffic even in the city.
Not so clean, still not well-developed country like Thailand

Bangkok, Bangkok, Thailand
Exploring Thai Buddhism, massage & ruesi datton.
Full-time meditator
Thailand is a well-developed country.
The burning of agricultural waste. Also Bangkok is very crowded and there's lot of traffic.

Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India
Studying dharma
Nice weather and beautiful scenery with a good dharma community

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Exploring & briefly working for an alcohol company
working for a wine company
Beautiful, neat city that is clean & has great public transportation.
A little too hot & humid all year & blasting aircon in public transport

Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay, Myanmar
Meditation & ordination
Monk/meditator
Great country to ordain & learn about Buddhism.
Too hot, even on 1000m elevation. Not so clean, especially around trains, people still burn their garbage.

Metro Manila, Philippines
Exploring the country & learning Chan at a Taiwanese monastery. Explored some martial arts classes as well.
Student
Friendly people, beautiful ladies, condominiums, Bahai Kubo & the rice terraces.
metro manila is overly crowded & polluted city with terrible infrastructure & 3hr traffic jams that steal your soul. It has terrible aesthetics except for a couple of places like BGC & Makati.

New York, USA
Exploring the country & working random jobs.
Random jobs
Freedom to live whatever lifestyle we like
Was shocked by the high number of homeless people, 70% of people weren't covered by insurance, racism.

El Khench芒ra, Mont-Liban, Lebanon
I was born there. Corrupt people & country. No morality or environmental awareness.
F&B, Yoga teacher.
Good weather, food & wine.
No proper city planning, bad roads & infrastructure, Fiber still not everywhere, no 24/7 electricity (have to use private generators), low awareness among public for importance of environmental protection, people don't know how to create & maintain a government/only concerned with selfish pursuits & hedonism.

I have been rejected in Singapore twice without any obvious reasons. They usually don't tell you the reason & just put you on the next flight back. Seems coming from Yangon is not a good thing for them. Read More
Wing Chun Phnom Penh by jimmysaville
Hi I studied traditional Wing Chun for many years, but am getting rusty as I have no one to train with here in PP. I was wondering if there was anyone out there with a similar predicament, if you'd like to meet up for some regular training. Or, ...
Oh my, I hesitate to reply to this post cause it's outdated, but just in case you're still in pp and interested in practicing together let me know. Read More
