I'm a former tanker driver, self employed courier and first time author. I was born in London, moved with work to South Yorkshire and after the end of my marriage in 2006, I hovered between depression, suicide, and an escape plan. Fortunately I overcame the first phase after four horrible years, met Christine, and a year later, after selling my house, clearing my debts, phase three became our plan. We loaded everything we could carry in the car, sold or put into storage everything else and headed for Dover on a cold January night, the prelude of our plan to drive to Portugal in search of a new way of life.
