I was born in Turin, Italy, where I attended the High School and studied law. I moved to Panama in 1980 where I graduated in Law and earned a Master on Commercial Law and a Master on Corporate Law. Since I get my license to practice law, I lived in Panama City. In this country legislation is more streamlined then in Italy so you can do here what you cannot there, because State isn't so oppressive in Panama. Business works easier for the people and professionals, so I guess I would not come back to Italy but as a tourist. I was born in Italy, in Turin, where I completed my high school studies and undertook law studies. For more than thirty years I have lived in Panama, where I practice the profession of lawyer, having graduated and qualified in this country. I have always lived in the capital, where I opened my firm, associating with other lawyers, Italian and otherwise. When I moved to Panama many years ago I immediately noticed the difference. Aside from the Caribbean climate and the slower pace of life, I immediately saw the possibility of emerging as a professional. Panama has legislation and an economic-financial fabric that allow you to do things that are unthinkable in Italy. Aside from the paltry tax regime, what is decidedly not felt here is state oppression in all its forms. Italian professionals and entrepreneurs, especially now, in times of crisis, are literally blocked by savage taxation and absurd bureaucracy. In Panama, opening a company or making investments is much simpler and it is the State itself that encourages them. A different economy, a different life. I would never return to Italy, except on holiday.
