I have a pleasant life in a village in the southwest of France but I realize that I am very busy with my work, which has distanced me from my friends because I have less time for non-professional activities. My husband and I would like to live in the south of Portugal when we retire (in about two years) for all the reasons mentioned throughout our reports on this country (easy living, sunshine, purchasing power which would also allow us to travel to other European countries). We have a child who supports us in our projects. We think that the next two summers we will visit Portugal following the coast from north to south to get an idea. We want to keep our house in France and rent a property in Portugal (apartment or house) it seems to be a bit of an obstacle course! So let's see... By registering on this site I wonder if other people who have made the same choice could give me their opinion and perhaps some valuable advice and information.
