Lom茅, Maritime, Togo
moved here from Lagos, Nigeria. its been a bitter-sweet experience.
theres a very palpable hatred and hostility towards foreigners especially Nigerians, and most specifically those of Igbo origin.
the Great number of Igbo Nigerians living, working and doing business here could have a large part to play in the negative sentiment borne by the locals towards them.
Igbos are known to thrive in even the harshest conditions by any means employable, and this could stir admiration from the womenfolk, and jealousy from the menfolk.
also any criminal activity by a handful could easily and is habitually ascribed to the rest of the Nigerians.
the food here is surprisingly mediocre, lacking in nutrition as compared to the food back Home.
everything is corn based and fish based.
the houses have poor ventilation and the rooms tend to be extremely hot.
mosquitoes are unbearable and i have been ill from malaria twice since i got here.
the locals will jump at the opportunity to cheat you of your money, and many times the popular and ubiquitous motor-bike transport riders run off with my change when i give them a high denomination note for a low figure fare..
i still live here so the story is unfolding...stay tuned
nice beaches, great for doing business, the port allows for importation and there are huge markets for trading in commodities, services, products etc. manufacturing is an untapped resource here.
the night life is wonderful and there are choice locations to visit as tourists.
stay out of the way of the locals.
and if you're Nigerian reading this, the hostility is mainly superficial and it cant really affect you physically unless you yourself goes looking for trouble.

this was a life changing experience for me. the life is fast here, lagos is full of ideas and people hungry to make it ahead in life. theres a plethora of opportunities for every field.
the city awakens the sleeping hustler in you. keeps you on the edge and your wits sharp.
the city never sleeps. theres almost always something to do, fun to catch, parties to attend, people to meet. Money to be made, skills to be sharpened, lagos is everything!!
Everyone is Mad, just a few are actually dancing naked in the streets as a result. but make no mistake, Everyone is MOVING MAD!!!

i lived in Gaduwa Estate, Gudu axis in Garki Area 1.
it was one of the calmest times in Nigeria, I made a lot of Great connections that serve me even till this day and i also reconnected with a whole lot of my friends who relocated from down south.
its pretty expensive. rent is a killer.
Owerri, Imo, Nigeria

this was where i did my University. i also happen to be from this state as well so there were numerous short 30 min trips from the campus to my village by public taxi.
the city of owerri is a very lively and alive city, full of fun destinations, nice hotels, clubs lounges and garden bars.
the food is memorable as well. the university campus sits on three villages, Ihiagwa, Eziobodo and and umuchima and i lived in all three at different times. theres nothing much to see here save for the school.
i found a way to like everything because i schooled here and i'm from here as well so...
can't really say for sure...lol

I was born here, so i know basically everything there is to know about calabar. my circle of friends still has quite a number of people that i formed these friendships with from here.
i cut my teeth in this city and i love calabar so much. i always go back on holidays once in a while.
this was a fun city. good food, good people, affordable, safe. and it is rich in culture, basically one the culturally richest cities in Nigeria.
Very little to offer by way of innovative ideas for business, the youth have limited choices for life occupational paths.. and the beautiful women are a sinkhole for the little one earns if theres lack of self control.
