My expat journey

Santiago de Quer茅taro, Quer茅taro, Mexico
My husband and I moved here with a variety of online income opportunities. COVID changed that. We now run our own tour company in Central Mexico Heart of Mexico Wine Tours focused on wine, food and culture.
Heart of Mexico Wine Tours, tour operator in Central Mexico focuses on wine, food and culture. We do day tours and multi-day tours. Check out our Wine Weekend Getaways! https://heartofmexicowinetours.com/
The climate is wonderful and we are surrounded by mountains. Our neighbors have been very inclusive and helpful.
The only real headaches are when we have to deal with government issues, and driving.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
I was an Animal Training Supervisor at Ocean World, an animal interaction park in Puerto Plata. I opened the park, trained birds, tigers, dolphins and sharks. Co-wrote the Training Manual and developed all documents and records for our animals.

The people were wonderful. Once they get to know you, you are family. Puerto Plata is beautiful with green mountains reaching down into the ocean. The expat community was very international and very helpful to each other.
If the electric went out, you couldn't use the water either. And it went out often.
