I am retired. Originally from Northport, Long Island, NY. I was in the Marine Corps for awhile. College. Lived in Northern Virginia area for 17 years. Lived in Shenandoah Valley, VA for awhile. Lives in Sarasota, FL for 22 years. Now living in Asheville, NC. I have been writing a novel for the past few years and intend to finish and publish this year. I will visit SMA this July for a few weeks. Staying with a friend there for 1 week. I want to explore the area and see how I will fit. Then I hope to move to SMA as soon as I can. My friend has lived there for 9 years. All I've researched an heard about it...sounds like I will love it. Especially the people, the arts, the climate and lifestyle. I took spanish in high school...I know a little, but will definitely take classes.
