I grew up in Southern California near the beach, and every time I experience yet another long and bitter winter, I yearn to return to warm sands along the Pacific. I am a retired college professor whose career was compromised halfway through by way of a hampering disability, thus allowing for a modest final fixed income in retirement. My good kid is now in his late twenties, firmly on his own, and so it is time for me to enter into my later years with some sense of redemption...
