About

I am a young professional from London, United Kingdom with a passion for travel, culture, good food, socialising and a firm belief in education and seeking knowledge! Afterall; "knowledge is power"!! I have had the pleasure of living in various Cities both within the UK and abroad. I travel often (Europe, Middle East, the Gulf Regions) and plan on emigrating abroad this year! I am planning to move to Latin America/ Caribbean and am interested in info on the Dominican Republic in particular, although I would not rule out any other good location! I am a sociable, down to earth kinda girl and an ambitious person by nature, with a zest for life and learning! Looking to make friends and contacts globally and see where life takes me! Feel free to get in contact with advice, tips, employment links, networking contacts or just to chat / make friends and hang out! Thanks! :)
Interests: Swimming, networking and business, dance (Salsa and Bacchata), socialising, fashion and beauty and cooking!, gym/ keep fit, yoga

Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago, Dominican Republic

I am very much interested in relocating to the Dominican Republic from England and I am actively searching and applying for employment in the country! I hope to travel within the Dominican Republic, experiencing the rich culture, lifestyle and habits which the country has to offer! I hope to improve my learning of Spanish, make new friends and immerse myself into life within the Dominican Republic. I wish to expand my career within Education, Teaching and possibly Administration. I love to help people and believe that we all have a moral duty to help each other, so i would really like to get involved in some voluntary work within the country helping children and orphans if this were available. I have a few projects in mind which I would love to carry out within the Dominican Republic and would be happy to network , get to know people and socialise with other fellow Expats to make this happen or get involved in any current projects which i feel i could assist in. My move from England to the Dominican Republic is in light of new beginnings, for a New Year in a new country! :)
I am an English Language Instructor, with over 10 years of expereince within Education. I have been Self - employed as a Private Tutor in English Language and Literature for a number of years and have taught in London (United Kingdom), Rome (Italy) and Manchester, United Kingdom.
I believe that the Dominican Republic offers a healthy mix of both culture, history and a modern way of life with a Caribbean twist! As I am originally from the Caribbean myself (Jamaica) and much prefer warm/ hot weather, sunny skies and beaches; I feel that moving to the Dominican Republic would be a step in the right direction and better suit my preference of quality of life.
I have not yet heard anything extremly negative regarding the Dominican Republic or anything which I feel is out of the ordinary regarding this country. Every country has its own pro's/ con's and good and bad points! It simply depends on what a person values more and what they want/ need in life! :)

Rome, Latium, Italy

Rome, Latium, Italy

I had visited Rome in Italy on and off for around 7/8 months before deciding to live there. I then moved there in 2010 and lived there for around 2 years. I worked as an English language teacher there in private schools and then I had worked in language centres as well as self employed. It was an amazing experience and I still travel to Rome to this day for vacation and to see friends etc!

The food in Rome is absolutely amazing! You are really spoilt for choice there! The lifestyle is balanced - work and being a professional is balanced very well with having a good social life, going out to various events, there is a big emphasis on family and spending time with each other. It is beautiful to see children very well looked after in Rome by their parents and by the society in general. The beaches are also good in Rome and there is always something to do, you can never get bored! I would strongly recommend visiting Rome and even considering it a place to live. It has four proper seasons and summers are long and hot! Winter does get cold but it's very short and before you know it, you have arrived in spring! Favourite places in Rome: - Trastevere (where I lived) - Viale del corso - Piazza del popolo - The Pantheon (the atmosphere is truly amazing there!) Best things to do in the summer: - Visit the lakes - Go to Tivoli and rent an Air b and b overlooking the mountains - Go to the beach - Eat ice cream all day! Best things to do in winter in Rome: - Wrap up warm and go for a walk with your loved ones, children or even on your own - Drink hot chocolate with a pastry or cake at a bar - Watch the football with friends nice and warm in your apartment - Visit the chocolate festival I'm Trastevere!
The only downside to living in Rome were the delays to public transport. This does become an issue if you rely on the bus, tram and metro for work or to go to school etc Other than that I do not have much complaint! :)

London, England, England

I was born and raised in London and enjoyed the very best of London life since my childhood and especially throughout my teens and early twenties! London has something for everyone and definitely it is the city which never sleeps!! Whether you visit London with friends, family, a partner or with children; you will never get bored and will be spoilt for choice on things to do there.
I have a background in Sales and Retail. I began my career in Education from approximately 2007 in London. I had worked privately as a Tutor as well as working for learning centres and private schools in London.
What I liked and still love to this day about London is the: - Diversity and multiculturalism of its people - Style and fashion - Variety of restaurants - Great activities for people to do - The atmosphere Hyde Park and Regents Park - The shipping!!!
The traffic can be a bit of a pain at times but if you know the best times to commute and get around the city then you'll be fine!
