Paris, France

Oct 1999 - Déc 2001

Paris, France

I spent in Paris less than one year, coming and going to and from Rome, and doing nothing in particular, except getting to know the place and spending quality time with my parisian friends.
In Paris I was just a happy expat living the good life. :)
Lots of arts and culture everywhere. The sweet atmosphere of the small cafes in the non-touristy areas of town. The possibility of living in a big town without necessarily having to drive a car. Excellent food. The opportunity to get to know people from various different cultures, in this great multicultural town.
The general grumpy attitude of the average people. Lots of Parisian (not all of them, but a lot of them) seem to be always in a very bad mood and somewhat hostile towards strangers. I think Paris is the only place I visited where so many locals try to do their worse to make you feel unwelcomed and out of place. A total lack of patience towards anybody who doesn't speak French perfectly. Maybe the only capital city in the world where trying to use English is almost considered an insult. Fortunately, not all Parisians are like that. But oftentimes this thing was a problem, during my stay.

Izmir, Turquie

Izmir, Turquie

Well, I was just one year old, and I don't have many memories of my life in Izmir. My parents where there on vacation, the first trip with me, and they liked the place so much that they decided to stay... for several months.
Son. :)
I don't have many memories, but my parents told me I was as happy as ever, there. I had lots of little friends to play with, and at that age there was no language barrier.
I liked everything. And I keep visiting Turkey quite often (almost every year).
