My expat journey

Fort-de-France, Martinique, Martinique

Hamburg, Germany

Prov铆ncia de Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
There was no "Project" in this time, but i wrote on my first amazone book (Poetry of a female painter, Amazon) and created a few silk shawls.
I worked employed in an Office for German speaking projects
Barcelona has a great cultural offer.
The "Catalan Issue" could proof as a problem. I did not speak much spanish. that was a general problem. (My fault)

Vienna, Austria
I was busy with developing my art skills, creating my website, I had silkart exhibits, created Videos, performances with Musicians but all in small manner.
I worked both in sales / callcenter for Messe Vienna two years and after my return from Costa Rica and Spain selfemployed for a 100% disabled person.
Vienna is beautiful and clean. It offers good Museums, has all the Austrian charm with a modernist touch, although Vienna has a dark heart.
You need to know the "right people" to have a fulfilled social life in Vienna. Very helpful were British friends from the British Community in Vienna, especially in the beginning. Later I was connected to the Musical scene a little bit and had good contact with a local Gallery.

Escaz煤, San Jos茅, Costa Rica
I was giving Workshops in Silk painting, did not have a lot of funds but still travelled as much as i could within CR. Stayed 9 months and was boarder hopping to Panama and Nicaragua.
I explored more like a tourist, meeting many artists, created a Video, a few paintings, had a great off time. I was trying to create an "Arts tour" but failed due to luck of sufficient funding besides heavy red tape in terms of CR being beauraucrazy.
The Artists that i met - CR has fantastic Artists, the Artscene is very lifely and I was offered exceptional friendships.
I am so happy I had this experience! CR is VERY Expensive but i learned that if you follow your heart, you will be supported. I did not like that most Ticos thought "I am Gringa" and did not bother to look deeper. However, i did make sweet and fantastic friends.
