I was born in Guyana, but grew up in Brooklyn, New York before relocating to Atlanta, Ga. as an adult. I am an ESL teacher at a local technical college, and I am a grad student in Georgia State University's Applied Linguistics Program. My students represent an international population, and cultural awareness is an important feature of my language instruction. My heart's desire is to teach English for specific purposes (medical, academics, etc...) in Africa or the Middle East. My students always invite me to visit their countries and investigate college and university teaching opportunities.
