My name is Michael Canoy. My wife, Kirsten, and I have lived in the Caribbean and in Bolivia for 25 years but returned to the US 10 years ago to let the 4 children we adopted complete school here. Now they are grown and we would like to return to Central America or the Caribbean to live. I have my PhD. in Systems Ecology and Environmental Science and have taught and managed projects in universities for 19 years. Most of my project work has been in marine ecology, fisheries, tropical forests, and natural resource management. We are looking most closely at Belize or Costa Rica as countries of choice. I part this is because we have a couple of friends there and for the "Caribbean Connection". Whatever we do, it will be within a month or 2. I have to finish 1 more contract here and then we are gone. We will be on a comfortable budget, but not large. We have always lived simply, and usually among the local people.
