Ireland

Stockholm, Sweden
Telecoms Engineering.
Food, fashion, transport, Tunnelbana (Tube, Metro),shops very good. A very tolerant country generally. Heating, hot water included in rent. Health service great.
Tax very high. Very expensive. Incredibly cold in winter but city is built to minimise that.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Airport electronics/power/radar/landing systems engineer.
Good weather but can be very humid. Western food plentiful. Although a Muslim country, the atmosphere is generally less oppressive than e.g. Saudi, as long as you are respectful of local beliefs and practices. No exit visa required to leave.
Far too many taxis vying for your custom.

Hello, I am an American teacher, possibly to marry a Saudi and move to Riyadh. I am very speculative about the differences in culture. I have only heard really bad things about the lives of American women in Saudi. Can anyone offer any ...
Hi I have known many westerners that have had nervous breakdowns after going to Saudi Arabia. No matter how many books you read and how open-minded you think you are, the culture shock can be huge. It is a few years since I worked in Riyadh, and ... Read More
