About

I went to Australia on Oct 2 and worked on my project with Amdocs for 1 month and then was laid off on Nov 2 2009. That allowed me to stay in australia for another month and visit other parts of the country - which was fantastic! went to sydney, climbed the harbour bridge, Terrigal was beautiful, Brisbane is a gorgeous city, gold Coast is glamorous, and the outback is surreal. I stopped in New Zealand on my way back for the holidays. Getting ready to go to china - but am also interviewing for a position in Manilla. I have been to HK and Thailand.
Interests: travel, sno ski, biking, wine, sky dive, motorcyc, golf

While I have lived in Troy, Mi for over 25 years - I have been consulting around the US for many of those years. I have 1 million miles with NWA but they are all in the US - I have consulted with Manufacturing Firms, Aerospace, Government, Utilities, and financial services - all in the IT area.
IT consultant and project manager
Troy has grown tremendously in the last 25 years - biggest feature is Somerset Mall - with many high end shops (Sax, Neimean Marcus, Nordstroms, etc. Many great restaurants and steakhouses located right on Big Beaver - that's the main drag thru troy. We have great sports teams here - you have Tigers baseball - Red Wing Hockey - Pistons basketball - and oh yeah the Lions with a 0-16 season in football in 2008 (3 out of 4 ain't bad)
Of course Troy is a suburb of Detroit and with the nationalization of General Motors (and the autoindustry by obama) there really is little work left here. With the auto industry failing - all other industries fall as well. So I am off to find work elsewhere in the world.

Melbourne or Sydney? by redumbrella

I'm planning a year working holiday in Australia and definitely want to spend it in either Melbourne or Sydney... but I'm having some trouble deciding between the two. I currently live in Boston and really like the compact urban setting, but I also ...

great question - I believe the answer is you cannot go wrong. both are the australian experience - but if you are there for a year you will see the rest of australia. so either place - you cannot go wrong. I was in MELB for most of my time. was ... Read More
