I芒聙聶m from Chicago. I initially came to Cambodia on a whim after spending a month in Vietnam. I had no clue how much Cambodia had to offer beyond Angkor Wat and quickly realized that 3 days wasn芒聙聶t nearly enough time. I traveled extensively, but couldn芒聙聶t shake the feeling that I needed to get back to Cambodia. I returned for one month, then two… and now, over three years later, I芒聙聶m still here and consider Siem Reap my permanent home. It芒聙聶s a great country to explore and (for me) the perfect home base. From here I can easily visit other countries that I love and the many others that I芒聙聶m looking forward to seeing. Most of the expats I芒聙聶ve known have since left the country and the majority of my friends are Khmer. I love them dearly, but I often miss speaking the 芒聙聹western芒聙聺 English that comes from sharing a point of reference.
