I recently retired from the beer distribution business. My wife and I are ready to leave the weather and expense of Vancouver from warm, sunny climes. We've never been to Belize but have heard great things, but are trying to find out which are the great areas? Stifling heat is not what we are looking for, so can anyone suggest areas with nice breezes and mid 80's temp? With reasonably priced rents preferably near the ocean? Ambergris Cay seems like a spot for us, but is it expensive to rent? Or too hot?

I expect to move to belize in April but my retirement pay won't start till June. Can I apply for the QRP program before a) I actually move to Belize (my house will be built and ready to move in before April, b) before I start receiving my pension? ...

Sharon, We are going to come down and rent for a while, so if all works out then we'll have to leave the country to apply for QRP? Would we have to come back to Canada or can we do it from Mexico or Panama? Read More
