Good morning! My name is Val茅rie and I already lived in Finland (Helsinki) in 1997 - 2001, then I returned there in 2007-2008 but this time with my 5 year old daughter. This July 2010 I plan to return to Helsinki with my daughter who will be 8 years old next year and I plan to stay there permanently and I need information!! I love Finland, I have fallen in love with this country and I will appreciate any possible information you can give me. My daughter is very excited too. She is counting the months to go there. There are, however, a few questions that I would like to ask all French people who live in Finland! 1/ I work for a French company where I manage a website. For example, I could work from home when I leave France (I don't want to leave my job). So I will be in Finland working from home for a French company. Do you know if KELA could give me the asumistuki? I contacted CAF and they told me that even if I work for a French company, it is the government of the country where I live which should take care of my financial aid (housing assistance, children (single mother). You also have to take into account that by working from home, my contract will change to half-time and therefore my salary will be cut in two... I will really need all the "tukis" that I could get...
