About

We are investigating retiring to Uruguay or Chile and remaining active in our professional and social lives. I have a horse here, so I've e-mailed someone in Uruguay about riding there and gotten a good response back. I wouldn't be very content with apartment living, so we will be looking into living options, as other family members want to come too. We will also be looking for a church--or maybe even starting one--as that's a community we love to be involved in. My husband is a high tech guy who will likely stay involved in his field--digital cameras, social networking, videoconferencing are his specialties. I enjoy developing networks of friends, such as Bible studies, horse friends and people to have breakfast with. We currently live in high desert, so there will be a climate adjustment wherever we end up. We will miss our house, our kitties, friends.

Yes, we are started on our moving process, and after so many years, there is a lot to get rid of. In regard to the higher cost of Uruguay, I would also expect greater opportunities to use our experience to create some income. In a vibrant economy, I ... Read More

Well, this certainly is educational, as we've only been looking at Uruguay for two weeks. We were in Chile when the idea came up that we should visit Uruguay, but it was too late to change tickets, itinerary, etc. We're going to come there, but ... Read More
