About

I moved back to Portland, Oregon USA and no longer live in Tallinn. I don't know how to delete this profile, so I'll just put this notice in. I am an educator, the past nine years as a high school assistant principal in a comprehensive 850 student high school in Washington state. Prior to that, I spent 17 years teaching, mostly band and choir, but also music theater, guitar, newspaper, yearbook, physical education, driver's education, and world geography, with a short stint also teaching art. In March, I sold my house, put everything in storage. Then, in June, I resigned my job and am now living in Tallinn, Estonia as of 15 August, 2012. I'm going to spend time traveling. My hope is to run 10 half-marathons in 10 different countries in 10 months. So far, I have the Tallinn half in September, the Zagreb, Croatia half in October, the Gy枚r, Hungary half in November. I know some Estonians, but they are all mid-twenties (I hosted them when they were in the USA working), but it would be cool to meet some people in their 30's, 40's, 50's--closer to my age (you should be able to figure it out from my picture and the information I have above!). I'm living in Old Town about 20 meters from the viewing balcony at the end of Kohtu. Would love to get together with other expats for a morning coffee or an afternoon beer.
Interests: traveling, worship, theater, music, , water skiing, running, good conversation and good coffee

You do NOT have to speak Estonian to work in Estonia. Getting a residency permit was difficult for me--had to go back to the Bureau five times before they accepted my paperwork, but I know of others who said they were in Estonia because the women ... Read More
