I wish to retire next spring (2013)and am strongly considering San Miguel de Allende. I will have a limited retirement income (USD 1,800/month)and am seeking advice from other expats that may have a similar budget if $1,800/moth is enough to live a quality life in SMA. I would be renting a simple 1-2 bedroom apartment and would not buy immediately. College degrees: BS Economics Villanova University (Villanova,PA); MBA Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). Spent about 18 years in corporate/international banking and 15 years as a "high end" business broker/M&A advisor to family owned businesses (all in Chicago). Very experienced in business/financial analysis, corporate financing,and business-to-business sales. Divorced since 1999; have one grown son (age 34) who lives in Ecuador and one grown daughter (age 31) who lives outside of Atlanta, GA.
