Lives in Merida

Registration: 18 September 2012

My expat journey

mexico
Yucatan, Mexico

Since Aug 2011

Yucatan, Mexico

I spent the first nine months living in a small fishing village near Progreso. I bought, and continue to renovate a tiny casa in the historic section of Merida. I moved into this unfinished jewel box in July 2012. I would not recommend doing this as you will be living with construction dust for inconvenient periods of time!
I have the distinction of being the first NOB woman to work for a Merida corporation. In addition to my work I spend my time figuring out ways to reincorporate my true loves - art, music and food.
I adore the architecture of Merida as it reminds me of my native New Orleans.
As I adjust to the differences, I find that there really isn't anything I don't like about living in Merida.
