Hello, I made my first trip to the DR in 2010, for business (financial investments and wealth management). Since February 2012, I have been married to a Dominican woman. She is a lawyer. We are living temporarily in Corsica, before returning to Aix en Provence in the fall. My business is based in France and we want to come back to the DR 3 to 4 times a year. My in-laws are in Santo Domingo but as I speak very little Spanish, I am quite bored in this big city. I seek to create friendly and/or professional relationships throughout the island (French or French-speaking people are often located in the north between Puerto Plata and Samana.) In the professional field, I make financial investments with very high qualitative value which are not accessible to expatriates due to their distance, added to the lack of advice from our bankers. I was able to recommend investment solutions in Europe to expatriates in the DR, which we can be proud of. I am considering creating a small, 鈥渘arrow鈥� network of business providers. These could be people who would be willing to recommend me to their personal or professional contacts as well as financial advisors or 鈥渨ealth management advisors鈥� (if that exists in the DR??) to whom I could entrust the distribution of our products.
