I have been here for almost 5 years and I really like the north of England. Yes, it is true that unemployment is high, but if you look and don't mind getting your hands dirty, you will surely find it. I have a good job and I bought my house in a good area and the truth is that we really like living here. It is very nice and only 30 minutes from the beach and 1 hour away from many parks and family attractions.

Like everywhere there is poverty and crime. but it's no worse than in london or manchester. Honestly, the north of England is discriminated against by many but I think it is the best kept secret. One of the advantages is that most professionals want to live in London and there are many jobs for engineers and technicians specializing in different areas. The prices of food and clothing are not cheaper than in London (that's something that is always said, that everything here is cheaper hahahaha) the only thing that is relatively cheaper is housing and you can buy a 3-bedroom house for around 150,000 GBP...
