I am an American, and I will be retiring to the Philippines in September of 2013. I'm coming there in January for a fact finding vacation to determine where in the Philippines I want to live. I have been there once to Cebu and Dumaguete, I really liked Dumaguete. Not to big but yet not to small. It's about the same size city where I live now. I will be traveling around a lot to see as much of the country as I can. Going to Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Surigao, Butuan, Cagayan De Oro, Davao, and Tagbilaran. Don't know if I can make it to all, but will give it a try. Maybe meet a friendly expat to show me around in each city, who know's. I am single and not really looking for a romance on this trip, but you never know. I want to travel around and get to know the people, the country, and the culture. I am in great health and I am fit, I enjoy all outdoor activities and I am especially fond of Golf. Looking for any advice or comment's. I will be there from Jan. 7th to the 30th. Starting off in Manila, I plan to spend 2 to 3 day's in each area. I have been planning this trip for 2 years, and everything I have been doing is in preparation to retire to the Philippines next September of 2013. My actual retirement date is August 31. All comment's or advice is greatly appreciated, negative or positive. Thanks.
