I have lived in the West Indies for 17 years, 3 years in the Dominican Republic then the rest in Martinique. Life in the West Indies is very pleasant, but sometimes I feel the need to return to the mainland to rediscover the cultural side, the hyperactivity, the big cities, etc. Well in 17 years I returned once for a year and once for 6 months, and I can say that I was really happy to come back to the West Indies. I have a tourism assistant diploma, I work in catering and as a hostess on boats. But I also worked for 4 years as a painter in buildings, gas station, laundromat, sailmaker, cleaning lady, etc. All this to say that we must also adapt to the offer and not despair when we don't do what we want! I think my life will be spent in the West Indies!!!
