Departure for a year in Australia with a Working Holiday Visa. Installation in Melbourne planned. For the moment, I'm leaving without having a job, but I hope to find one once I get there!

Return to Iceland after a 6-month trip to South America.
Still in the hotel and catering industry, restaurant supervisor position.
Having a lot more work, I wasn't able to enjoy my surroundings as much, but the views and other little escapades were still just as pleasant! The great thing about Iceland's dramatic landscapes is that they are always just as beautiful, whether in the sun, rain, snow or fog!
If you are planning to settle in Iceland, plan the budget to buy a car! You will be able to go on an adventure much more easily. It's my little regret that I wasn't able to walk around more!
Bogot谩, Bogota D.C., Colombia
6 month backpacking trip in Central and South America.
Countries visited: Mexico, Guatemala, Costarica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
Traveled solo, then with two friends who joined me.
The city is magnificent, on a human scale and very student-oriented. With its river and its river, and its buildings which smell of Italy, we live in a very pleasant environment!

Having just graduated from my Master's degree, I had decided to start my professional life in Iceland. In June, I started looking far and wide, and I found a friend with whom I had worked in Massachusetts who had moved there.
One thing led to another, and I took up my position in September 2016, and everything happened very quickly!
Still in the hotel and catering industry. I started by doing service during the winter period, then I was trained on reservations, and then did the summer season on reception and management of reservations.
Iceland was a real favorite for me; In addition to discovering a country as wild as it is poetic, I also discovered myself. It was a fantastic experience, and the winter was a moment of intense introspection but which allowed me to mature my personality.
What I like best about this country is this very introverted side of the population, which actually turns out to be one of the most poetic people I have ever met!
Let's just say that you have to be perseverant if you want to find a place in the hearts of Icelanders! It didn't always make things easy during the very first months of installation. But once this introversion has passed, you will discover a completely original vision of the world!
Know that Icelanders, although almost all bilingual in English, are very proud of their language. If you want to win them over and fully integrate into the culture, learn it! (If you don't plan to stay there forever, a few words will do to bribe them into a smirk!)
They have a lot of tourists and non-Icelandic workers, and comments about someone working in Iceland not speaking Icelandic are not uncommon. (But often offset by the embarrassed smiles of people around)

Lenox, Massachusetts, USA
With the American dream in mind, I decided to return there during the 4 month break in my studies. After getting a job, and above all the famous (and very laborious) sesame to get there, here I am on the plane heading to Boston.
I worked at a 5 star hotel in Lenox, MA. I did an internship there, still in the same field of hotel and catering.
I really liked the region, which I find very beautiful. I also had the chance to travel to several other regions of the country. It鈥檚 a magnificent land that is worth a look! Americans are easy to approach, which makes a tourist trip a warm and pleasant experience.
Let's say that from the point of view of a young French woman, the daily work relationship with the Americans is something more difficult to manage. As French people, we generally have very direct relationships with our colleagues: if something is wrong, we will not hesitate to go see the person and discuss it directly with them. In the United States, the resolution of disagreements is done more indirectly. Which can be confusing at first.
I also met a few people who were in more than worrying financial situations (astronomical student loans) and medical situations (not enough funds to afford social security coverage)... In short, my American dream took a small hit!
However, I have not had a long enough experience to make a generalization of it; even though I know that if I return to the United States in the future, it will be as a tourist, to visit these landscapes as eclectic as they are breathtaking!

Internship in Hospitality (Hotel Le Victoria), in the field of HR, then in the field of communication, in the Aventure du Sucre museum.
The sweetness of life, good memories and idyllic landscapes in the company of very smiling and welcoming locals.
The mixture of Hindu, Muslim and Christian cultures which live in harmony, and which is also found in the languages 鈥嬧�媠poken: Mauritian Creole, French and English.
The glaring difference in wealth between the rich population (overwhelmingly white) and the locals who sometimes live in difficult conditions.
Otherwise, my experience was very positive.
