I lived in India for a total of 2 1/2 years. I love the Indian people and the culture. My husband and I found that we can not be happy there due to the lack of infrastructure. He plans to visit on and off. I will not go back because India will not allow me to being our 2 small dogs. The rules have changed. I must wait for 2 years before before I can bring them back. Even then it is very difficult and costly. Even with the proper paper work and NOC. they were held by customs in Delhi for 2 days in their crates. We were not allowed to remove them. THERE WERE STUCK THERE FOR 2 DAYS IN THERE WASTE! After much begging my husband was allow to feed them. i WILL NEVER BRING MY DOGS TO India again. I will not visit without them. I am now looking at Ecuador as a possible location to retire.

I'm happy to be back in the States for now. It is clean with excellent infrastructure.
It is very expensive to live in the States. Sadly it is difficult to find non-GMO food. All of our processed food contains corn syrup and is laden with preservatives. Organic food is very expensive. The cost of health care is exorbitant. Health insurance is expensive with high deductibles.
Though the infrastructure is good, I am beginning to see it start to crumble. The America I knew growing up is no more.
