We moved to Bulgaria in July 2011. We have been delighted with the country, the people (especially), the laid back lifestyle - we just love everything about it. Unfortunately, after 16 months my wife missed the grandchildren so very badly and so we decided to return to the UK. We sold our properties and are now back in Wales. I wrote a website about Bulgaria at www.bulgaria-life.com and I will continue to update it. We made friends with many Bulgarians and Brits, and I picked up the language to the extent that I can hold a conversation with a local. I also taught myself the cyrillic alphabet before I went out there, which helped us enormously - particularly with place names. I would not hesitate to recommend Bulgaria to anyone, but please read my website as it does point out the dos and donts whilst there.
