I grew up mostly on overseas military bases. I was in the U.S. Army National Guard and deployed to Afghanistan, where I met my husband, an Afghan national who works as an interpreter. We have been waiting for almost 2 years for his spouse visa for him to get to the U.S. and have no idea how much longer it will take. We're considering moving to another country to be together while we wait, and Samoa seems to have accommodating visa requirements.
