we have lived in the Dominican Republic for 5 years permanently and have been coming there for 9 years. Our village is the historic place where Christopher Columbus landed for the first time in 1492. He created the first church in all of America and had the first mass celebrated there. every year on January 6, the anniversary mass is celebrated in the presence of numerous prelates and the apostolic nuncio.
