Respect has different meanings in different cultures.
I learnt to respect my enemies whom I don't love.

The respect we are talking about is the respect that accompanies love.

After having fought in different theatres of war I have the utmost respect for some of my enemies I have fought against.

By "Love" you mean between two individuals mainly a man and a woman. Same sex love is shunned or illegal in some parts of this world even punishable by death.
"Respect" usually mean an attitude of consideration or high regard. Respect varies across culture and time.
Especially in this blog of travellers simple words carry different meanings from the dictionery.

I didn't know the forums were segregated.

when you enter the forum grounds,
see the coloured columns boxes and dotted lines?
they have a general area and the rest are put into country boxes
now they have number of suitcaese above your head which are colour coded!!

The stars are all the same color.

the suitcases are not.

you need both.

Respect is one of the components of Love. But, love is not really = Respect. Or else all of us are in love with each other right now. Isn't it true?

I don't know who said love and respect are the same thing, but no we would not all be in love with each other because obviously we don't all respect each other.
