Coming here to Krasnodar we like using Aeroflot a Russian Airline it's not very expensive.  I am going to Rome this summer and I will fly Austrian Air for the first time.  I have heard good things about it!

My FAVOURITE amongst all is CSA (Czech airlines). And the reasons are very simple, first it's usually cheaper than other companies, but the 3 main reasons are that they have REAL sandwiches, I mean with REAL slices of ham/cheese and not that thin little tiny crap one can find on XXX companies (write me for details ), then you receive a 33cl can of Pilsner Urquell beer (and fresh, with some other companies you have a Stella Artois 25cl can, and even on KLM you don't have beer at all, bastards), and moreover you can ask for a second drink (Pilsner, of course...) So to me, there's no doubt, when I have choice, I always choose CSA. Oh yes, and until now, they've never been delayed, no troubles to mention, well, really a reliable and cool company.

I often use Ryanair for moving from the South of France to London and EasyJet for Madrid-London or Paris-Madrid.

Ok, low fares companies are cheap, but their service is restricted to the minimum. to be frank I don't like Ryanair at all ... they are often late (I had to wait more than 3 hours several times), the seat is uncomfortable, and sometimes the prices are not that cheap ... So why I am flying with this company? Because it is the only one who brings me to London from the south of france...

It depends.

If I flying from Norway to France. I take Air France or SAS if I'm going to Paris, but if I want a plane to Lyon, I take KLM, Lufthensa or SAS (via Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Copenhagen).

But there is a "Low cost" airport near where I live so if I want travel to Stockholm, London or Milans, I take Ryanair or Wideroe (norwegian compagny), this is wonderful I can flight in Sweden or Italia for 30 €, I love Ryanair for that .

Not rlelevant for the big travellers but the South Pacific has great airlines. Air Vanuatu is so friendly, efficient and serves great food. Air Calin is very efficient, has great food and organises the large number of passengers with a great deal of thought and civilty. On both those airlines I feel very welcome and very well looked after. In Australia everyone raves about Virgin Blue how happy they are and what a great atmosphere they have. I fly Qantas because I am a traditionalist. Qantas can have some odd meals in the "down" times but the other meals are excellent and the staff is friendly and efficient and sometimes hilarious.

I have bought my ticket for X-mas (Montreal - Paris).
I'll fly on Air France. I'll tell you...

Japan-UK for me MUST BE Virgin Atlantic!!!! I've done BA once. Bloody awful in Comparison. VA have great service, planes are modern (good entertainment system), food is pretty good (they have Japanese food, as well as western), and most importantly, the Japanese stewardess are really young and good looking

Singapore Airlines are very good too, except for the Mumbai-Singapore route.

Continental are so-so. So are Thai I thought. BMi are OK-ish.

To be honest, JAL and ANA scare me a little. I flew ANA from Japan-UK once. Service was very good.
However, when you see the Japanese news ALWAYS reporting incidents about planes having flaming engines, bits falling off etc etc you get a bit worried.
Also, rather worrying was the very recent story that ANA were going to start English lessons for their pilots.


Ummm, hello. Alhough we could argue about why this has happened, BUT English is the official language for air travel. All pilots have to speak English. I dread to think about the kind of conversations that Japanese pilots are having with Air Traffic Controllers



Anyway to answer the question. From what I've heard, JAL are a little bit like BA. A bit snobby, and not as good as they like to think they are.

I am meeting my friend next week in London, I'll tell her JAL pilots don't understand English and that her company is too expensive ... we never know, maybe she'll give me a good discount?

I don't know about favorites because i usually flight with the cheapest but i strongly recommend you all not to fly with american airlines, my god, they don't care about you, and worst of all, you have to carry your luggage till the xray, amazing, I flew with them twice and i can tell you that even if i have to pay more i wil

air france was so far the biggest dissappointment to me. the planes were old and crappy (no leg room), and then they simply cancelled a connection flight without any reasons.
my best experience was KLM from amsterdam to cape town (direct!) so far. modern plane, enough space and those new entertainment systems. although it was a day flight, the 14 hours felt like only 5.
the only airline that could compete was the old swissair, before they went down.
