The names Nolan. Im from Cape Town South Africa. Im looking to live and work in Angola. I have neither kids nor dependents. I was born in South Africa. Ive worked for almost 18 yrs. in SA. Im currently have a very low paying job. Im wanting to find a better paying job that will meet my experiences and qualifications. In the past 7 months. I have emailed over 600 cvs for potential jobs. Because my country is heading for a recession and we are financially and politically unstable, its hard to find descent work here. Also our country as strict policies regarding labour and race. The have introduced policies like AA (Affirmative Action) and BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) and other policies. These policies in a nut shell racially discriminate against the white people in my country. I have a father who is 63 yrs. He currently lives and works in Angola now for over 16 yrs. in oil. He has made a very nice nest for his family. My day in his 50's couldnt find work due to these policies and him being a middle age white male. At this moment in time, there is no future for the majority of white people left in South Africa. The number of white people that have left SA to live and work abroad has increased alot. The less fortunate white people are forced to live in poverty, In SA, there is an estimate over 600 000 white people and families living in poverty and cant find jobs. This number has increased dramatically in the past few years. So we are forced to leave our country of birth to find better paying jobs abroad and to build a better future. So Im one of those very few white males who want to leave my country and live abroad in Angola.
I've just arrived to Luanda recenty. For the first time actually in Africa for work. A bit shoked and surprised, but smoothly getting on board then.
I am Maintenance Engineer in service company. Will hope to get good time over here.

I'm Juan,聽 an spanish guy living in Paris whose boyfriend is moving to Angola due to a great job opportunity.聽 I'm thinking about moving with him,聽 but I don't know nothing about that country, the only thing I know is that Luanda,聽 where he's moving, and maybe me too, is the most expensive city in the world. I'm a hotel receptionist, and honestly I don't know if I'd be able to live there with a hotel salary...
Well, I'm here just to learn more about Angola and particularly Luanda to make me take a decision,聽 cause know I don't have any idea about what to do or how to handle all that...
I hope I will find an answer to my doubts here.
