Are there any lawyers on Cabo Verde who work on a contingency basis?
We were two of those whose recent inter-island flight got cancelled for days (engine defect), so we hadn't been able to use the pre-booked and pre-paid hotel on another island and had to pay for a hotel on the first island again on top. Given the fact that Cabo Verde Airlines did not even bother to inform anybody about replacement flights (despite collecting contact information) we would like to sue them for a ticket refund plus the consequental damages...
I think using a local lawyer might have a bigger impact - if at all - than me sending a letter...

Hi Julian,

Seeing that no one (not even lawyers looking for business) has responded to you, I'll just give a brief reply. Due to the culture of how professional services are offered/paid for in CV, there is no such thing as contingency based legal services in Cape Verde. At least, I have never heard of such a thing being acceptable to CV lawyers and I have worked with many of them. They want to be paid mostly up front.

Do you know if anybody in CV has ever been successful claiming refunds from Cabo Verde Airlines? :-)
